Summer student volunteers have fun while making a difference in the lives of Veterans.

Thursday, May 9, 2019

The Miami VA Healthcare System’s Voluntary Service will be accepting applications for its annual Summer Student Volunteer Program until June 3.

The program gives young adults the opportunity to learn about America’s Veterans and their military service and work alongside VA staff in providing the best health care to our nation’s heroes.

“We always look forward to welcoming new summer student volunteers,” said Mernie Williams, Miami VA Voluntary Service chief. “I encourage any student interested in doing something productive this summer to apply and make a difference in the lives of our Veterans. If any student is interested, apply early because the spots fill up quickly.”

Students interested in applying must be 14 to 18 years of age. Applicants will be interviewed to determine suitability and availability according to facility needs. The deadline for submitting a completed application package is June 3.
