Miami VA brings smiles to a Veteran family
The holidays came early for one Veteran and his family. For the fourth year in a row, the Miami VA Healthcare System’s Quality Management (QM) Service adopted a Veteran family for the holidays. Working with Social Work Service, our QM team bought toys, clothes and gift certificates for a young Veteran family who receive services at the Miami VA.
“There’s no greater feeling than seeing smiles on the faces of our Veterans and their families,” said Karen Sutton, chief of Quality Management Service. “We are just happy to give back to Mr. Mora and his beautiful family during the holidays. Seeing their smiles makes this all worth it.”
The Mora Family, with their three children ages 12 months to 6 years old, was very surprised – and appreciative - at the generosity of Miami VA employees.
“Words can’t explain how we feel about this wonderful day,” Roy Mora said. “We are truly touched by the kindness and what it means to my family.”
