Miami VA Celebrates Doctors Day
Veterans and staff members at the Miami VA Healthcare System celebrated Doctors Day with a special gallery of personal thank you messages. Photos of Veterans and staff with hand written notes were posted to the Miami VA’s Facebook page allowing doctors from Fort Lauderdale to Key West to hear directly from those they serve.
"It is an honor to be able to join in with our Veterans and staff from all our clinics to publically recognize all that doctors contribute to the Miami VA Healthcare System," said Paul M. Russo, director of the Miami VA Healthcare System. "The work of our physicians is paramount to the care we provide and core to our healthcare mission."
Doctors Day was established by congress in 1991, and is celebrated each March 30. It is a way to thank and recognize physicians for their many contributions to our nation
"We wanted to do something special for our doctors," Said Karen Conde, administrative officer to the chief of staff. "We wanted to do something that was a little more personal and that involved our Veterans."
Veterans and staff from all 8 locations that make of the Miami VA Healthcare System participated, including inpatients in the Bruce B. Carter Medical Center and patients and staff from the Key West Clinic.
