Flu Shot Clinic
One of the goals of all VA Healthcare facilities during Flu Season is to increase the rate of Influenza vaccinations of healthcare workers and all personnel at Miami VA Healthcare System. Since 2004, the Infection Control Service prepares a cart with Flu vaccines which staff uses to visit the Community Living Center, Extended Care, Spinal Cord, and Dialysis Units to vaccinate employees. Over head messages and video clips were produced to educate patients and staff on the importance of receiving you flu shot by our Media Production Service. Banners and magnets were strategically placed at all clinics and postcards were mailed to veterans in enrolled for care to remind them to get their flu shot. The Flu Champaign was a success and the committee is already planning for next flu season.
Beginning October 2008, veterans may receive their flu shots, free-of-charge. No appointment is necessary. Please bring your veteran's id card with you.
