As a teaching hospital, Miami VA Medical Center provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.

Affiliates

The VA has developed a unique and very close professional relationship with the University. The Medical Center has an extensive research program concentrating in diseases affecting bones and joints, prostate, mental health, HIV, and dental health as well as special studies in infectious diseases, neurological disorders, and renal diseases. Residency training programs are provided to 150.5 residents in most of the medical and surgical subspecialties, as well as in Pathology, Psychiatry, and Radiology. To accomplish the hospital's mission of patient care, medical education and research, an active teaching role has been developed through our formal affiliation, and a complete range of medical, surgical and psychiatric subspecialty services are provided. Residency training programs approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) are provided in the following specialties:

Veterans Service Organizations

Miami VAMC maintains a good working relationship with all of our veteran service organization (VSO) partners. We regularly brief our VSO representatives on changes impacting veterans' health care.

US Department of Defense
