The Miami VAHS is the proud recipient, 2005 and 2006, of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs’ Robert W. Carey Excellence Award. On June 1, 2007, it was awarded the prestigious Florida Governor’s sterling Award in recognition for having the largest number and breadth of physician specialties in VHA, establishing national benchmarks, and achieving role model status for innovative approaches and success targeting potential customers. In November 2007, Miami VAHS received the prestigious Robert W. Carey Trophy Award for Best in VA.
The Miami VA Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations:

Miami VAHS was surveyed by JCAHO in August 2007 in an unannounced triennial visit and received full accreditation.
